LAKELAND, Fla. – Time is ticking on Alex Wilson.
And although the Detroit Tigers’ right-handed reliever threw a second successful bullpen session today with no signs of soreness, his availability for the start of the regular season is still up in the air.
Wilson threw 27 pitches. He is scheduled to throw a live batting practice session on Thursday and could make his spring debut on Sunday, manager Brad Ausmus said.
“He was good,” Ausmus said.
Wilson has been sidelined with shoulder soreness since Feb. 29. It was a different soreness than he experienced late last season, in the back of his shoulder and not near the biceps tendon.
