LAKELAND, Fla. — It was weird, Alex Wilson admitted.
For the first time in five years — save an emergency start with the Detroit Tigers in 2015 — the veteran right-hander came to the stadium on Thursday afternoon as a starting pitcher.
Admittedly, Wilson wasn’t quite sure how to prepare. A talker by nature, he didn’t quite know how to interact with his teammates.
So for his first outing in the Tigers’ starting rotation competition, Wilson kept it simple.
“I think all of that will find its way and place,” he said.
