SAN DIEGO -- The Detroit Tigers are open for business.
With the club eight games under .500, in last place in the American League Central and in the midst of a six-game losing streak, Tigers general manager Al Avila said he would start listening to trade inquiries now, rather than waiting until closer to the trade deadline next month.
"Our hope is that we'll get on the right track," Avila said to a small group of media from Detroit in the Petco Park dugout on Friday afternoon. "But a lot of teams wait until July 1 to decide.
