CLEVELAND -- Joe Jimenez channeled his inner Aaron Rodgers a few days ago after his fastball velocity dipped to 93 and 94 mph: R-E-L-A-X.
The radar gun, Jimenez said, was the least of his concerns.
Nonetheless, all eyes were on the scoreboard velocity reading when he pitched again on Monday night at Progressive Field.
All was back to normal: 97. 96. 98. 95. 96. 96.
Five days after he allowed five runs in two-thirds of an inning, Jimenez pitched a 1-2-3 frame on Monday, striking out Lonnie Chisenhall to end the inning.
"Like I said before, I really don't worry about velo," Jimenez said.
