BOSTON -- Fans weren't the only one who held their breath when Justin Verlander was pulled in the third inning after suffering groin tightness last Sunday in Detroit.
"I was a little bit concerned," the Detroit Tigers ace said Friday from Fenway Park.
When he woke up the next day and it was still sore, his worries grew.
But in the days since, Verlander has consulted the team's athletic trainers and medical staff, and even called up an old surgeon for advice. Each day, he felt better.
