DETROIT -- Opening Day festivities turned into a two-day affair as Tigers fans returned to Downtown Detroit on Friday after Thursday's scheduled home opener was rained out.
Street musicians, dancers, scalpers, beer tents and tailgaters surrounded Comerica Park once again, and the excitement led to at least two marriage proposals at the Tiger statue in front the stadium.
Fans had several brand new party options for Opening Day, with tailgating gatherings at Little Caesar's Arena, which opend in September 2017, Beacon Park, which opened in July 2017 and The Corner Ballpark on the old Tiger Stadium site, which opened just last week.
