Alexander Pope said that hope springs eternal in the human breast, a phrase that somewhere back in my childhood got connected to baseball in some way. I’m too old to remember just how, but it comes to mind especially when the season begins, and things are so full of promise.
This season has been a particularly perplexing one for me as I have tried to come to grips with the many ways our Kitties have found to lose ballgames. Tonight’s implosion was a perfect case in point. Walking my dog, Cooper, and listening to Dan and Jim has become an almost daily ritual during the season, and things began so well.
