CHICAGO — Here are five things we learned before the Tigers began a three-game series against the White Sox at Guaranteed Rate Field.
Iglesias became U.S. citizen
José Iglesias isn’t in the lineup on Friday because he became a U.S. citizen in Detroit earlier in the day. Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said Iglesias was expected to be in Chicago before the start of Friday's game against the White Sox.
Victor Martinez said he hopes to be the next Tiger to become a U.S. citizen, but said he has more studying to do ahead of the naturalization process.
