Matt Manning made it to West Michigan after all.
Manning, the Detroit Tigers No. 1 pick in 2016, was moved to the Class-A affiliate Friday following an announcement by the club.
The 19-year-old right-hander is expected to make his Whitecaps debut during the upcoming five-game series at Lake County beginning Saturday.
Manning, the ninth overall pick out of Sheldon High School in Elk Grove, California, remained in extended spring training when camp broke rather than head directly to West Michigan.
The 6-foot-6 Manning was sent to Connecticut in mid-June and has posted a 2-2 record with a 1.
