In today's Tigers rumors and news update, San Diego Padres closer Huston Street is indicating that he expects to be trade before the July 31st MLB trade deadline. In the market for bullpen help, the Tigers could emerge as a prime contender for his services.
Per ESPN's Jim Bowden, it's not a matter of if Street will move but where:
Huston Street told us he expects to be traded at deadline&he said the Padres have communicated w/ him on this subject #Angels #O's # Tigers

According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, although the Tigers are indicating that they will be willing to look at potential additions to the back of their bullpen, they are not jumping off the Joe Nathan bandwagon just yet.
If the Tigers continue to hedge on Nathan during one of the toughest years of his MLB career, they could fall out of the market for Street with just over two weeks until the deadline. However, GM Dave Dombrowski might still be willing to pull the trigger on a Street deal, working out the logistics of the Nathan/Street pairing as the season wears on.
With a miniscule 1.09 ERA in 33 games this season, the 30-year-old right-hander's stat line could easily justify such a move.
