The end of Max Scherzer's time with the Detroit Tigers seems to be close at hand, with communication lines apparently cut off between Scherzer's camp and the club.
Per Jim Duquette of MLB Network Radio, Tigers assistant GM Al Avila says that the team hasn't even had a dialogue with Scherzer about the chances of a potential return:
Al Avila of the Tigers just told us " we've had no conversations " with Max Scherzer camp @MLBNetworkRadio

Scherzer's agent, Scott Boras, said earlier in the process that the Tigers wouldn't even be given a chance to match a winning deal for his client's services. However, according to MLB.com's Jason Beck, "an industry source suggested Tigers owner Mike Ilitch will get a chance from Boras — an agent with whom he was completed many a free-agent contract — to match a final offer, at least as a professional courtesy."
