BREAKING NEWS: Detroit Tigers RHP Anibal Sanchez will remain in Detroit with a newly minted five-year, $80 million contract.
At just 28, Sanchez is 48-51 with a 3.75 career ERA for the Tigers and the Miami Marlins.
Sanchez was regarded as the second best starting pitcher available this offseason behind Dodger's Zach Greinke who just signed a six-year $147 million deal in LA.

It was rumored that on Wednesday Sanchez had reached a five-year, $75 million contract with the Chicago Cubs but that alleged deal fell through.
The Tigers were thoughroughly impressed with Sanchez's performance in Detroit after they received him at the deadline with fellow Marlin, Omar Infante.
Sanchez will join Justin Verlander, Max Scherzer and Doug Fister at the top of the Tigers lineup.
