OTTAWA - Henrik Zetterberg capped a superlative month with a pair of milestones.
His notable night was made all the better as the Detroit Red Wings topped the Ottawa Senators, 5-3, on Saturday at Canadian tire Centre, ending a frustrating stretch that had seen the Wings win once in their previous seven games.
Don't attribute the losing to Zetterberg, who has 14 points after 11 games.
He reached 500 career assists when he set up Tomas Tatar's first-period goal, becoming the seventh player in Detroit history to reach that milestone. Zetterberg reached 800 points - again, the seventh player in Detroit history to to do so - when he set up Gustav Nyquist on another power play in the second period.
