Wings prospect Larkin 'nervous,' but eager to make roster

Detroit Red Wings prospect Dylan Larkin, the team's 2014 first-round draft pick, has a great shot at a roster spot, especially if Pavel Datsyuk and Johan Franzen begin the season on the sideline.

"I'm pretty nervous," Larkin told NHL.com. "I was told to come and compete and perform. It's hard to have a mind-set when you don't know what to expect in terms of the workload there and the schedule. You just try to prepare by training properly and getting your sleep."

Larkin admitted sleep is particularly important to him.

"I have been able to sleep anywhere, anytime since I was born," he said.
