Edmonton, Alberta — A familiar face returned to the Red Wings lineup Saturday, one who the team hopes can provide much needed goal-scoring.
Gustav Nyquist returned to the lineup against the Edmonton Oilers after the end of his six-game suspension.
Nyquist served his suspension for high-sticking Minnesota’s Jared Spurgeon Feb. 12, putting Nyquist on the sidelines.
If this feels like a longer than usual suspension, in a way it was.
Though the six games aren’t unusual, the Red Wings had their five-day bye week during Nyquist’s suspension, and several days off from the schedule.
