DALLAS – As teams around them surrendered draft picks for immediate gratification, the Red Wings remained quiet.
NHL teams have until 3 p.m. today to make deals before the trade deadline. A year ago, the Red Wings dealt picks and a prospect to add a forward and a defenseman, but general manager Ken Holland told the Free Press this weekend he is considering moves only for a player who would be a significant upgrade over someone already on the team. The Wings are not looking for depth.
“We like the development of our young players,” Holland said.
