Detroit – The Red Wings’ shopping list for free agency will apparently get completed quickly.
They agreed with defenseman Mike Green Saturday on a two-year contract worth $10.75 million ($5.375 million per year cap hit) – they made the signing official Sunday – and have agreed to deals with forward Thomas Vanek (one year, $3 million) and goaltender Jonathan Bernier (three years, $9 million).
The contracts will be made official once unrestricted free agency opens for business Sunday at noon.
Vanek, 34, is a 6-foot-2, 214-pound left wing who had 24 goals and 32 assists (56 points) in 80 games between Vancouver and Columbus last season.
