Having passed the first test, Johan Franzen already has received the go-ahead for a follow-up.
Franzen is to be a part of the Detroit Red Wings' lineup that will host Boston tonight at Joe Louis Arena. He played with the squad that beat Pittsburgh, 6-1, Thursday, in what was Franzen's first game in eight months.
Coach Jeff Blashill has pretty much divided the Wings into two squads to take turns in the eight-game exhibition schedule, but he decided to switch Franzen to get him into another game right away.
"He did a really good job," Blashill said Friday.
