“Berggren’s had a good year down there,” Red Wings coach Jeff Blashill said. “At the end of the day, the decision on Jonatan Berggren is a decision made on what’s best for his individual development. That’s a decision (general manager) Steve Yzerman makes and no different than what I talked about with Moritz Seider.
“We were in a similar position (in 2019-20), where Moritz could’ve come up right around this same time and the decision was made to leave him down in the American League and let him continue to finish the year out.
