TRAVERSE CITY — Now that it’s official Henrik Zetterberg is done playing, the Detroit Red Wings have to figure out how to ameliorate the loss as they prepare for the 2018-19 season.

Zetterberg averaged 19 minutes 30 seconds per game last season, second highest among forwards. His 2 minutes, 38 seconds of power-play time led all team forwards.

He announced Friday morning on opening day for training camp he was stepping away from his career because of a degenerative back injury.
