from Craig Custance of The Athletic,
Part of the Red Wings’ rebuild plan is to lure a high-end free agent along the way to go with the young talent they’ve started collecting the past couple drafts. As it stands now, they’re having trouble landing guys like Brickley and Spencer Foo, college free agents who chose to sign with other organizations. So, chances are, John Tavares isn’t walking through that door.
The Red Wings still have all the things that made the organization attractive in the past. A committed owner. A strong base of fans.
