The Detroit Red Wings’ top goaltending prospect will begin his pro career next season.
The Wings have signed Filip Larsson to a three-year, entry-level contract, and assistant general manager Ryan Martin told the Free Press Larsson will be in Grand Rapids in 2019-20. The Wings are set in goal through next season, with both Jimmy Howard and Jonathan Bernier under contract.
The Wings drafted Larsson at 167th overall in 2016. He spent 2018-19 at the University of Denver, where he capped his freshman year with an appearance in the Frozen Four after two straight shutouts in the West Regional.
