What a blast! Griffins win Calder Cup on Martin Frk's third-period goal

GRAND RAPIDS - The Calder Cup Trophy got big welcome to Grand Rapids on Tuesday, compliments of Martin Frk;s slap shot felt all the way through 21 years of the franchise.

With chants of "We want the Cup" echoing throughout sold out Van Andel Arena, the Griffins rallied with two goals in the third period, capped by Frk game-winner with 7:19 remaining for a 4-3 victory. His signature big blast came from outside the right circle and goalie Mike McKenna didn't have time to move.

Frk's goal came after the Griffins rallied three times to tie it in on goals by Matthew Ford (power play) and Mitch Callahan in the second period and Tyler Bertuzzi 3:50 into the third.
