from Ansar Khan of Mlive,
Libor Sulak has signed with a Russian team rather than spend another season in the AHL with the Grand Rapids Griffins.
Sulak, a restricted free-agent defenseman who appeared in six games with the Detroit Red Wings last season, inked a one-year deal with Severstal Cherepovets of the KHL.
The 6-2, 207 pound Sulak would have been hard-pressed to earn a roster spot with the Red Wings at the start of the 2019-20 season.
