Tyler Bertuzzi had a big night for the Detroit Red Wings on the road against the Washington Capitals on Wednesday night, with a goal and an assist, but goalie Ville Husso surrendered a power-play goal with 4:27 remaining in the Wings’ 4-2 loss at Capital One Arena.
Bertuzzi opened the scoring for the Wings with a power-play tally 8:09 into the first period, which he put in off the rebound with assists from Michael Rasmussen and Filip Zadina, but the Caps knotted the score just before the first intermission with a score from Connor McMichael.
The Bertuzzi/Rasmussen connection came through in more fluid form a third of the way into the second period.
