If you’re new to my work, it’s worth noting that the criteria I use for defining an NHL prospect versus an NHL player does not align with the NHL’s criteria for rookies. The NHL’s definition says that once a prospect has played 25 games in a single NHL season, six or more NHL games in multiple seasons or has turned 26, he is no longer considered a rookie.
