Tomas Tatar had to be a longshot to score the first goal of Game 2, but the Vegas Golden Knights have been beating the odds the entire NHL season.
So it was the player acquired from the Detroit Red Wings at the trade deadline -- a healthy scratch in Game 1 -- who got the Knights on the board and sparked a win that evened the conference finals with the Winnipeg Jets.
It was Tatar's fourth career playoff goal, first since 2015.

"I said to myself before the game I wanted to work hard on the forecheck, get as many pucks as I can on the forecheck from the guys and we scored from it, so it's all good," Tatar told reporters after Vegas' 3-1 win.
