It was a dream debut for Larkin on Oct. 9, 2015. The forward recorded his first career goal in the NHL and his first as a Red Wing as well. Additionally, Larkin recorded his first assist in the win over the Leafs.
Fans got a glimpse of the speed and skill Larkin possess right from the get go. His goal allowed him to become only the second Red Wings teenager to score in their first game. Steve Yzerman is the only other Red Wings player to do so.
In his first five NHL games, Larkin recorded at least a point in each game.
