Buffalo, N.Y. – Tomas Tatar picked a good time to end a slump.
Tatar ended an eight-game goal-scoring drought with his 12th goal, breaking a tie at 17 minutes, 50 seconds of the third period and giving the Red Wings a 4-3 victory over the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday.
The goal came just moments after Buffalo forward Evander Kane hit the goalpost with a wrist shot that would have given the Sabres a lead.
Goalie Petr Mrazek made a breakaway save on Buffalo's Zach Bogosian with around a minute left to preserve the Red Wings lead.
