DETROIT – The Detroit Red Wings today agreed to terms with left wing Taro Hirose on a one-year contract extension.
Hirose, 25, skated in six games with the Red Wings during the 2020-21 season, recording two assists, two penalty minutes and a plus-two rating in 14:22 average time on ice. The 5-foot-10, 162-pound winger also suited up in 29 games for the American Hockey League’s Grand Rapids Griffins last season and led the club with 23 assists and finished second on the team with 28 points (5-23-28).
