Steve Yzerman weighed in – sort of – on whether former Detroit Red Wings teammate Sergei Fedorov’s number should hang from the rafters next to his.
“It’s not my place to make that decision and it’s not my place to tell the Ilitch family what to do,” Yzerman said Monday. “Ultimately, I think it’s something that will get a lot of consideration.”
Yzerman is closing in on his first year as Wings general manager, charged with rebuilding the franchise he captained out of its last dark age.
