Jared Coreau is back in net and defenseman Niklas Kronwall back in the lineup.
The Detroit Red Wings host the New York Rangers (12:30, NBC) today at Joe Louis Arena. With Kronwall back from a groin injury, forward Drew Miller was made expendable, put on waivers to make room on the roster. Miller has five goals among six points in 34 games this season. He was in all likelihood in his last season with the Wings anyway, as Tyler Bertuzzi has shown he is ready to play at the NHL level.
Kronwall replaces Alexey Marchenko, enabling the Wings to slide Kronwall in next to his longtime partner Jonathan Ericsson, and keep intact Danny DeKeyser with Mike Green and Nick Jensen with Xavier Ouellet.
