One of the low-stakes roster questions still outstanding for the Red Wings heading into the 2020-21 season was the fate of waiver-wire pickup and unsigned-RFA Dmytro Timashov. Well:
Timashov, 24, was claimed by Detroit from Toronto on February 24th. He played in five games for the Wings before the shutdown and recorded none of his nine career points with us.
Timashov filled a bottom-six role with hustle and received a qualifying offer, but so far has not signed a deal to play in the NHL next season. Detroit already had plenty of forwards vying for spots and it appears interest in having Timashov being among those vying wasn’t terribly high from either side of the negotiations.
