Red Wings sign forward Eric Tangradi to two-year extension

Eric Tangradi is having his best season as a professional. But rather than explore the free-agent market in July, he has opted to remain in the Detroit Red Wings organization.

The club signed the 27-year-old forward to a two-year contract extension on Monday.

Tangradi, in 60 games, is second on the Grand Rapids Griffins in goals (24) and points (49). He is tied for ninth in the AHL in goals and tied for 18th in points. His plus-minus rating (plus-21) is tied for 14th in the league.

"He's had a very good year," Red Wings general manager Ken Holland said.
