DETROIT -- The Detroit Red Wings re-upped with a pair of defensemen who finished the season with the Grand Rapids Griffins, signing Dylan McIlrath and Brian Lashoff to two-year contracts.
They are two-way deals (lower salary in the AHL) worth $650,000 per season in the NHL.
The Red Wings acquired the 6-foot-5, 236-pound McIlrath from Florida as part of the trade-deadline deal that sent Thomas Vanek to the Panthers for a third-round pick.
McIlrath, 25, had no goals and four assists in 21 regular season games for Grand Rapids and no goals and five assists in 19 playoffs games during the Griffins' run to the Calder Cup championship.
