The Detroit Red Wings have started their off-season with internal changes.
General manager Ken Holland told the Free Press today that longtime goaltending coach Jim Bedard will not return to the organization. Assistant coach Pat Ferschweiler will remain with the organization but be moved from behind the bench.
Jeff Salajko, who has considerable history with No. 1 goaltender Petr Mrazek, is a leading candidate to become the new goalie coach.
Holland said the moves reflect meetings he had with head coach Jeff Blashill after they held their own exit interviews with players following last month's first-round elimination from the NHL playoffs.
