Brandon Saad of the Columbus Blue Jackets was the winner of the Twitter fan vote used to determine one of the competitors in the breakaway challenge portion of the NHL All-Star Game Skills Challenge this weekend in Nashville.
Saad, Detroit Red Wings forward Dylan Larkin and Matt Duchesne of the Colorado Avalanche were the three players in the Twitter fan vote.
The captains of the four All-Star teams – one representing each division – will pick the first five competitors in the breakaway challenge and Saad will round out the six-man field.
Although Larkin didn't win the fan vote, he'll still compete in the Skills Challenge since all 44 players named to the All-Star teams will take part in at least one event.
