Results don't get much more immediate than the one newcomer Brad Richards had on his first day with the Detroit Red Wings.
"It was the first time the 'White' was winning the scrimmage," captain Henrik Zetterberg told the Free Press today, after an informal skate at Joe Louis Arena. "He was in white, so I guess he had a pretty good impact today."
Richards joined the Wings on July 1, on a one-year, $3-million deal, fresh off of helping the Chicago Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup. Weeks before the Blackhawks topped Tampa Bay in the finals, Richards watched the Wings take the Lightning to Game 7 in the first round, which left quite an impression.
