A break in the schedule offered the Detroit Red Wings what they needed: a punishing practice.
Still smarting from their embarrassing performance against Montreal, the Wings went through roughly an hour-long practice Thursday. Their next game is Saturday at Arizona, a chance to halt what’s grown to a six-game winless streak after Tuesday’s 8-1 loss.
“I like to use the word urgency over desperation, but whatever word you want to use, I didn’t think it was high enough,” coach Jeff Blashill said.
