The Detroit Red Wings have brought Joakim Andersson back into the fold.
He was recalled today, two days after being sent to the Grand Rapids Griffins because the Wings wanted to get a look at a couple of players in the farm system. Forward Eric Tangradi ended up playing just 6:55 in Monday's 4-2 victory at the New York Islanders. He and defenseman Nick Jensen, who did not get into the lineup, were returned to the Griffins today.
The Wings waived Andersson, 26, over the weekend because they wanted salary cap flexibility in case reserves were needed.
