I've gotten to the point where I don’t expect much when the Red Wings take a trip down to Florida. So, starting this trip with two losses isn’t tough to process. Instead, I’m looking at the positives — Detroit showed some promising moments in the 2nd-leg of their trip down south.
By Red Wings standards, the 1st period was a success. Not exactly the prettiest start, again they got pinned into their zone early. Detroit fought through it and somehow managed to gain some momentum and produce the first goal. Troy Stecher (!!!!) took a nasty hit but managed to get up and create a redirection with Adam Erne:
Carter Verhaeghe, the menace that he is, seemed to respond all by himself with a couple of chances, and then the inevitable game-tying goal.
