Prospect Tomas Nosek continues to make a case for being a regular with the Detroit Red Wings next season.
The forward’s overtime goal is why the Wings’ top farm team, the Grand Rapids Griffins, took a 1-0 lead into Sunday’s Game 2 of their first-round AHL series against the Milwaukee Admirals. Nosek also had an assist in Game 1’s 4-3 victory at Van Andel Arena, and led the Griffins with five shots on net.
The best-of-5 series shifts to Milwaukee for Game 3 and if needed, Game 4.
Forward Evgeny Svechnikov, the Wings’ first-round pick from 2015, also had a goal Friday.
