DETROIT - Jack Adams must use his 6-foot-5 frame to his advantage in the long, uphill battle sixth-round picks face in reaching the NHL.
He also needs to produce offense at Union College while improving his skating and 200-foot game.
Adams realizes what he needs to do and that it will take time. His maturity is one reason the Detroit Red Wings believe the right-shooting winger has promise. He has impressed the organization during the past two development camps after being selected 162nd overall in 2017 - largely because of his size.

"I think it's definitely an advantage, but I think it's also harder than people think," Adams said.
