Red Wings post third straight comeback victory

Raleigh, N.C. — The Red Wings had the Carolina Hurricanes right where they wanted them after two periods Saturday, trailing by two goals.

And, again, the situation worked out successfully.

Frans Nielsen scored the lone goal in the shootout to give the Wings a 4-3 victory, the third consecutive come-from-behind victory for the Wings (7-8-2) and sixth win in the last seven games.

Carolina outshot the Red Wings 52-32, making for a busy but successful evening for Wings goaltender Jonathan Bernier, who was perfect in the shootout stopping all three shooters for the Hurricanes (7-7-3).
