DETROIT - Niklas Kronwall remained off the ice during training camp, raising some red flags about his health, maybe even his future.
The Detroit Red Wings defenseman cleared up some doubt on Friday, joining his teammates in practice for the first time during camp and preseason.
Kronwall said his back seized up the day before the first practice in Traverse City, but his troublesome knee has not been an issue. He will not play Saturday, when the Red Wings make their preseason debut at Little Caesars Arena against the Boston Bruins (7 p.m., Fox Sports Detroit Plus), but expects to play in one or two exhibitions and be ready for the regular season opener Oct.
