Red Wings' Martin Frk trying not to be too one-dimensional

DETROIT - Martin Frk does one thing extremely well - shoot the puck. His shot is as hard as anyone's and enabled him to score 11 goals in 68 games as a rookie with the Detroit Red Wings.

Is that enough to keep him in the league long-term?

Maybe not. That's why Frk must improve in other areas, like reducing giveaways and being more responsible defensively.

"He's made lots of steps forward in terms of the completeness of his game, but I think it's going to come down to just making sure he executes at a high level on a game by game basis, not losing any opportunities, especially on the power play, with decision-making," coach Jeff Blashill said.
