Their latest victory came at a high cost for the Detroit Red Wings.
General manager Ken Holland told the Free Press that forward Drew Miller will undergo jaw surgery Saturday and miss six weeks. Miller had played 190 games in a row, not even missing any last season when a puck hit so close and so hard near his right eye that he still has a scar.
Forward Teemu Pulkkinen is out 6-8 weeks with a dislocated shoulder.
Holland said no one would be called up for Saturday's game against Nashville, as Tomas Jurco and Joakim Andersson are available.
