DETROIT -- Rookie forward Anthony Mantha will be a healthy scratch for the second game in a row tonight for the Detroit Red Wings, who face the New York Rangers at Joe Louis Arena (7 p.m., NBC Sports Network).
Coach Jeff Blashill scratched Mantha Friday, citing his lack of competitiveness and back-checking in Wednesday's 6-1 loss at Boston.
The Red Wings then defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-2. Blashill did not want to change a winning lineup, other than start Petr Mrazek tonight in goal.
"Obviously I'm not happy sitting out," Mantha told Detroitredwings.com after the morning skate Sunday.
