DETROIT - The injury-plagued Detroit Red Wings will try to win their third game in a row tonight, something they accomplished only twice last season, when they host the New Jersey Devils at Little Caesars Arena (7:30, Fox Sports Detroit).
Detroit (3-7-1) is coming off victories against Dallas (4-2) and Columbus (5-3). The Devils (5-3-1) suffered an 8-3 loss at Tampa Bay on Tuesday. They are 0-2 on the road.
The Red Wings are missing three top-six forwards. Andreas Athanasiou (leg injury) hasn't skated since Sunday and is expected to be out through at least Saturday's game.
