The one player the Detroit Red Wings picked up at the trade deadline this past season is likely to be back with the organization next season.
As part of the trade that sent Thomas Vanek to Florida, the Wings got a conditional third-round pick – and a former first-round pick in defenseman Dylan McIlrath.

While McIlath hasn't panned out in the NHL after being selected 10th overall by the New York Rangers in the 2010 draft, McIlrath turned out to be a very good addition for the Wings’ top affiliate, the Grand Rapids Griffins.
